Reunions of the Children of Shingwauk Alumni Association in the 1990s provided the impetus for class-action lawsuits that forced a Prime Ministerial apology in 2008

The Remembering Project has been invited to send three volunteers to the historic alumni association of survivors. Ben Rowswell will also provide a tour of the building that housed the Shingwauk Institute and the historical displays

We can organize transportation from either Ottawa or Toronto; participants will be expected to cover their own transportation and accommodation but all meals will be covered.
